Better Patient Care Stack Veterinary Hospital uses first-class pet diagnostic equipment for evaluating health and detecting potential or existing problems. Our capabilities allow us to build a complete profile of your pet’s condition and be better prepared to notice issues if or when they arise. Therefore, having access to a full diagnostic lab, digital X-ray machine, and ultrasound services benefits all of our patients, whether they are healthy or sick.

Our Laboratory Lab results give our veterinarians valuable information about your pet’s current health state. We can better detect signs of illness, injury, or congenital defects without being invasive. Additionally, we can establish baseline values in healthy pets and determine how well they can handle being under anesthesia.

With our lab equipment, we can run various complex tests and get results within 20 to 30 minutes. We offer tests that screen for disease in healthy pets, and specific tests for diagnosing existing illnesses. Some of these tests include:

  • Blood chemistries
  • Complete Blood Counts (CBC)
  • Fecal tests
  • Urine specimens
  • Ear smears
  • Blood parasite testing
  • Electrolyte testing
  • FeLV/FIV testing
  • Parvo testing
  • Giardia testing
  • …and more

Advanced Diagnostics Pet Ultrasound

Dr. Homco, a certified radiologist, visits our hospital each Wednesday to perform and interpret ultrasounds. With ultrasound, we can view the soft tissue organs and blood vessels in real-time and in considerable detail. If your pet needs an ultrasound, we’d be happy to help you schedule an appointment—just call 315-478-3161.

Digital Radiography

Our digital X-ray machine helps us in many situations, including diagnosing injuries, examining your pet prior to orthopedic surgery, and checking for foreign bodies. We also use a dental X-ray machine to search for damage below the gum line. Using digital technology means we can take X-rays faster, minimizing stress to your pet. Furthermore, a board-certified radiologist visits our hospital weekly to interpret radiographs and help us pursue better treatment options.
