Dr. Daniel Stack
Dr. Stack joined the practice in 1988 after graduating from North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine. In March 1993, he became the third generation of veterinarians to take ownership of Stack Veterinary Hospital.

Dr. Jan MacDonald
Dr. Jan MacDonald was the first board-certified surgeon in Onondaga County. She graduated from Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1987 and joined Stack Veterinary Hospital as an associate veterinarian in August 1992. In 1994, she was awarded Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons after completing a four-year internship and surgical residency at The Animal Medical Center in NYC in 1991.
Although, Dr. MacDonald has retired from Specialty Surgery, she continues to help within the Hospital wherever needed. At home, Dr. MacDonald has a dog named Thule, a very smart Standard Poodle.

Dr. Kathleen Congel
Kathleen Congel joined our Practice as an Associate Veterinarian in June 1996. She graduated from Clarkson University in 1992 with a Bachelor's Degree in Biology while playing college basketball. In 1996, she received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Cornell University. Her special interests are ophthalmology and internal medicine.She enjoys spending time outside of work with her husband and 2 children. They are an active family who love sports and hiking. Dr. Congel has 2 mixed breed rescue dogs named Biddy and Ghillie.

Dr. Rae Clark
Dr. Rae Clark joined the practice in July 2010 after graduating from the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine. She received certification in feline health and is a Feline Friendly advocate through the American Association of Feline Practitioners (AAFP). Her interests include nutrition, internal medicine, and dental health. In her spare time, Dr. Clark enjoys reading and being outdoors, taking part in many activities. She has three cats named Milo, Birdie, and Frannie; a Labrador named Jake, and a Catahoula mix named Lou.

Dr. Jamie Lovejoy
Dr. Jamie Lovejoy came to our practice in November 2015. She graduated from Eckerd college in 2008 with a Bachelor’s in marine biology. In 2012, she received her veterinary degree from Tufts Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Lovejoy and Dr. Sellar host the hospital’s weekly radio show, every Sunday between 10-11AM on Newsradio 570 WSYR (106.9 FM). When not at work, Dr. Lovejoy spends her spare time watching classic movies, hiking, biking and cooking. She has an orange cat named Calvin.

Dr. Kristin Sellar
Dr. Kristin Sellar became a part of our team in July 2017. She graduated from the University of Rochester in 2010 with a degree in political science and economics, then continued on to receive her veterinary degree from St. George’s University in 2017. Her areas of professional interest include preventative medicine and dermatology. Dr. Sellar and Dr. Lovejoy host the hospital’s weekly radio show, every Sunday between 10-11AM on Newsradio 570 WSYR (106.9 FM). Outside of practicing veterinary medicine, Dr. Sellar is an aspiring 46’er who can be found hiking in the Adirondacks or traveling. At home, her furry family includes an orange kitty named Deputy Ferguson, a Siamese kitty named, Eli and a chocolate Labrador Retriever, named Griswold!

Dr. Carolyn Sumner
Dr. Carolyn Sumner joined the practice in September 2020. In 2009 she graduated from the University of Florida with a Bachelor's in Zoology. In 2014 Dr. Sumner received her veterinary degree from Tufts Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine. She then completed a rotating internship at the Veterinary Medical Center of Central New York. In her spare time she greatly enjoys traveling, board games with friends, video games, and movies. She has a rescue pit mix named Bean.

Dr. Eileen Snakard
Dr. Eileen Snakard graduated cum laude from Villanova University in 1992 with a Bachelor of Science Degree. She attended the College of Veterinary Medicine at Auburn University in Auburn, Alabama, and graduated magna cum laude in 1996. She completed a general internship at the Animal Medical Center in New York City in 1997 followed by a surgical internship at the Dallas Veterinary Surgical Center in Texas. In 2001, she completed a three-year residency in small animal surgery at Texas A&M University then relocated to the greater Washington DC area. She became a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons in 2003. Dr. Snakard lived in the Washington DC for 20 years before moving to Upstate New York. Dr. Snakard firmly believes that time is precious and so is her family. Therefore, the majority of her time outside of work is spent with family. They explore museums, attend various live performances and lose themselves in the world of children’s literature. In her “spare” time, she leaves her cellular phone at home and runs through local parks or simply her neighborhood. In this world of accessibility, leaving her cellular phone at home is therapeutic.

Dr. Rebecca Jenkins
Dr. Jenkins joined the Practice in 2022. She earned her BS in Veterinary Technology at SUNY Canton before continuing her studies in Veterinary Medicine at Ross University on St Kitts island in the Caribbean. She completed her clinical training at Kansas State University before returning to New York.

Dr. Jennifer Smith
Dr. Jennifer Smith joined the practice in November of 2022. She graduated with a Bachelor's in Biology from the University of Illinois. She continued on to receive her DVM in 1990 from the University of Illinois as well. She practiced in Chicago for 18 years and New Mexico for 14 years. In her spare time she enjoys hiking and a good art museum. She is looking forward to exploring New York on rainy days. She has a Golden Retriever at home named Mackie.

Dr. Steffann
Dr. Lauren Steffann graduated summa cum laude from Binghamton University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry, then continued on to Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine, graduating in 2024.
While at Cornell, Dr. Steffann served as treasurer of the Veterinary Business Management Association, from which she was awarded an Honor's Certificate by completing 32 credit hours of business education. She also received significant training in veterinary nutrition and diet planning while acting as Royal Canin's student ambassador. Before graduating, Dr. Steffann completed her internships here at Stack Veterinary Hospital, as well as Banfield Pet Hospital in Nesconset, New York. She then fulfilled her externships at the ASPCA Spay Neuter Alliance, Asheville, North Carolina and the Veterinary Medical Center of Long Island - Dentistry Service. Her professional areas of interest include internal medicine, surgery, and nutrition.
Outside of her passion for veterinary medicine, Dr. Steffann enjoys creating drawings with colored pencils and pastels, reading fantasy books, running, and she recently started playing pickleball. At home, her furry family includes her cats, Clover and Tumbleweed.
