A Better Way

Ultrasound is a non-invasive diagnostic tool that, through the use of sound waves, yields detailed images of your pet's internal organs. It is very effective for examining the heart and abdominal areas. We utilize ultrasound to confirm findings on physical exams or radiographs. Dr. Homco, a board-certified radiologist, visits Stack Veterinary Hospital on Wednesdays to perform ultrasounds and interpret radiographs. Along with our established patients, we also welcome referral patients from established hospitals!

What To Expect

On the day of your pet's appointment, Dr. Homco will perform an ultrasound on your pet. Once the ultrasound is complete Dr. Homco will contact your pet's regular veterinarian to discuss the results of the ultrasound.

Your regular veterinarian will reach out to you to discuss results and to determine how to proceed. Results are typically available within one week of your patients appointment.

Board-Certified Radiologist

Linda D. Homco, DVM, DACVR

Originally from Chicago, Illinois, Dr. Homco received her DVM degree from Purdue University in 1979. After completing one-year internship at the New York State College of Veterinary Medicine at Cornell University, she worked at Animal Hospital of Pittsford in Rochester, New York for seven years, with clinical Interest in medicine, oncology radiology, and exotic animals.

She returned to the Midwest to complete a four-year radiology residency at the University or Illinois, receiving board certification in radiology in 1992. Dr. Homco then accented an appointment as an assistant professor of radiology and ultrasound at Texas A & M University's College of Veterinary Medicine in College Station, Texas. After seven years on the faculty, she returned to upstate New York in 1998.

Alicia is currently a Referral Coordinator who works directly with Dr. Snakard and Dr. Homco. When not at work she enjoys spending time with her family and friends. She has three pit bulls, Rhino, Roxy, and Tyko. She also has two cats, Onyx and Storm.

Stuart

Veterinary Ultrasound Assistant

Stuart directly assists Dr. Homco during your pet’s ultrasound appointment. Stuart will greet you and see that your pet is handled with care during their ultrasound. Stuart will help keep your pet calm and safely positioned during while Dr. Homco performs your pet’s ultrasound.
