Ultrasound is a non-invasive diagnostic tool that, through the use of sound waves, yields detailed images of your pet's internal organs. It is very effective for examining the heart and abdominal areas. We utilize ultrasound to confirm findings on physical exams or radiographs. Dr. Homco, a board certified radiologist, visits Stack Veterinary Hospital on Wednesday's to perform ultrasounds and interpret radiographs.

Linda D. Homco, DVM, DACVR

Originally from Chicago, Illinois, Dr. Homco received her DVM degree from Purdue University in 1979. After completing a one-year internship at the New York State College of Veterinary Medicine at Cornell University, she worked at Animal Hospital of Pittsford in Rochester, New York for seven years, with clinical interest in medicine, oncology, radiology, and exotic animals.

She returned to the Midwest to complete a four-year radiology residency at the University of Illinois, receiving board certification in radiology in 1992. Dr. Homco then accepted an appointment as an assistant professor of radiology and ultrasound at Texas A & M University's College of Veterinary Medicine in College Station, Texas. After seven years on the faculty, she returned to upstate New York in 1998.
